Seoul National University's College of Engineering (Dean Byoungho Lee) announced on November 25 (Thursday) that the 'SNU College of Engineering' webzine won the New York Festival Award, one of the world's top three largest advertising festivals, at the 31st 2021 Korea Business Communication Awards held at the Korea Press Foundation's International Conference Hall.
 
The "SNU College of Engineering" webzine won the New York Festival Award in the overseas special award category in recognition of its innovation and future of engineering colleges that emphasize communication and experience by producing meta verse webzines.
 
The New York Festival Award is an overseas special award awarded to the media and communication excellence category at the New York Festival, one of the world's top three largest advertising festivals, and the Korea Sabo Association delivers the award on behalf of the New York Festival.
 
“Winning the New York Festival Award from one of the world’s top three largest advertising festivals is the result of an innovative attempt to approach SNU College of Engineering’s excellent contents through a communication platform called metaverse, and we will continue to use creative and new ways to plan and create methods for communication in the future,” said director Dong Sin Han of Seoul National University's College of Engineering, who was in charge of planning and production, during his acceptance speech.
 
The ‘SNU College of Engineering’ webzine was launched last year and is a quarterly published medium that is strengthening communication and cooperation between Seoul National University's College of Engineering and society by digitally integrating and converting research results and contents of Seoul National University's College of Engineering.
 
Following the 2020 SNU College of Engineering webzine Korea Communications Best Award Prize, the achievements include receiving of the 2021 New York Festival Award as well as receiving the Korea Business Communications Best Award Prize for the second consecutive year.
 
"Communication between Seoul National University's College of Engineering and society is a highly important project and by receiving this international award, we will further strengthen innovative communication," said Dean Byoungho Lee of Seoul National University's College of Engineering who led this project.
 
Meanwhile, the 2021 Korea Communication Awards, which marks its 31st anniversary this year, is an award ceremony in the field of broadcasting media with the highest credibility in Korea, awarding a total of 23 related categories and special awards that are awarded in related fields such as communication, including new categories such as ESG, in addition to existing categories such as printed and electronic newsletters, broadcasting and private journals, issued by each company (public company), association, group, or national institution after going through preliminary and final screening of 120 domestic and foreign jury members.
