SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on November 13 that ' The 8th SNU College of Engineering. Medicine. Hospital Forum On Medical Device' was held on November 6 (Friday) both online and offline with SNU Medicine (Dean Chan Soo Shin) and SNU Hospital (President Yon Su Kim).

The forum was designed to further promote the cooperation and interaction between SNU Hospital and the SNU College of Engineering to create a synergistic outcome in future medical innovations.

During Session1, the following presentations took place: △'Unmet need for infusion pump in real world: what do physicians need and what can engineers do?' (Professor Hye Ryun Kang of the SNU Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology), △'Advanced electron microscopy for high-throughput protein analysis' (Professor Jung Won Park of the SNU Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering), △’Development of positron emission tomography (PET) systems’ (Professor Jae Sung Lee of the SNU Department of Quantitative Nuclear Medicine), △'The development of optical/ultra-radio-dynamic treatment technology using drug-laden gold nanoparticles-microcapsules' (Professor Seung Ryeoul Paik of the SNU Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering).

During Session 2 the following presentations took place:
△ 'Identification of the flow structure of 3D transition inside a respirator' (Professor Wontae Hwang of the SNU Department of Mechanical Engineering), △ 'Metal artifact and noise reduction in CT’ (Professor Chae Hee-dong of Seoul National University), △ 'Nano-material based protein-like optical sensor' (Professor Ki Tae Nam of the SNU Department of Materials Science and Engineering,Hybrid Materials), △ 'Artificial urinary bladder' (Professor Hyeong Dong Yuk of the SNU Department of Urology).

The forum ended with Jin Wook Chung, the Head of the Innovative Biomedical Technology Research Institute at SNU Hospital, giving the closing ceremony speech. "We hope this forum will serve as a venue for communication to exchange in-depth and up-to-date research in various converged research fields that have applied smart medical devices and artificial intelligence (AI), and SNU will spare no effort to lead the way for the development of South Korea's medical and bio innovation," said Dean Kookheon Char of the SNU College of Engineering.
