Seoul National University's College of Engineering announced on November 15 (Monday) that Dean Byoungho Lee recently donated 150 million won for the development of the College of Engineering.
 
Out of the donation amount, 100 million won was donated to the Innovation Lecture Award through the Education and Research Foundation College of Engineering and 50 million won was donated to the SNU Electronics, Electrical and Computer Engineering Scholarship Foundation (Chairman, Professor Deog-Kyoon Jeong).
 
Dean Byoungho Lee, who took office as the 30th dean of the Seoul National University College of Engineering on September 1, entered the Department of Electronics Engineering at Seoul National University in 1983 and completed his master's degree, and received a doctorate in electrical engineering from Berkeley University in California in 1993.
 
In addition, he is a regular member of the  National Academy of Engineering of Korea and the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, and has served as Chairman of the Optical Society of Korea and the Korean International Display Society, continuing to engage in academic research and industry exchange activities.
 
"I have decided to take such an initiative to set an example as an associated member to lay the foundations of a better environment upon which students can devote themselves for development. In particular, I also wanted to participate in donating for the development of the College of Engineering," said Dean Byoungho Lee.
 
Meanwhile, it is known that the total amount donated to Seoul National University by Dean Byoungho Lee exceeds 200 million won.
