Professor Kyoung Doug Min of SNU Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Selected as Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International) Fellow

SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kook Heon Char) announced on 5^th that Professor Kyoung Doug Min of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has been nominated as Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International) Fellow.
 
SAE International is the leading society on automobile, aircraft, and heavy-duty truck with over 12,800 members from around the world.
 
Professor Min is recognized for his academic achievements on the field of next generation combustion system. Specifically, he has made contributions to the development of the virtual NOx sensor, designing of strategies for two-stage combustion, and research on the combustion and engine exhaust analysis of Diesel engine.
 
Professor Min received his BS and MS degree at SNU Department of Mechanical Engineering and his PhD degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). After a year of postdoc, he conducted researches on gasoline engine at the Daimler-Benz Research Center at Stuttgart, Germany for two years. Min returned to SNU in March of 1997 to serve as the professor of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He is continuing his contributions to the field by leading industry-university cooperation with Korean automobile companies.
 
Fellow is the highest grade of membership at SAE International and is only presented to individuals with outstanding personal achievements, technological accomplishments, and experience in the professional field. In 2018, the Fellow membership was granted to only 12 members among the entire SAE International. There is currently a total of 424 Fellow members. Professor Min is the third SAE International Fellow from Korea.
