SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on November 4 that it held the Season 2 Demo Day for ENNOvation TANK (ENNOTANK), which supports start-ups that are based on engineering technology. ENNOTANK is a startup support program hosted by SNU's Industry-Academy Cooperation Engineering and Human Resources Support Center, organized by SNU's College of Engineering and sponsored by Hyundai Motor Co.
On this Demo Day, ENNOTANK Season II carried out booth exhibitions of selected companies and there was the announcement of the five pitching teams fostered through investment-focused accelerating programs. Only about 150 people attended the event to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the event was broadcasted live on an online platform.
The booth exhibition provided opportunities for attracting investment and networking that involves Korea's leading venture capital companies and a 50 million prize money was to be delivered to the most outstanding team that would be selected through evaluation by professional judges, consisting of venture capital CEOs and on-site undergraduate students.
At the Demo Day booth exhibition, with the 5 pitching teams of ▲ Smartooth Korea ▲ Team Elysium ▲ Rocket View ▲ Morai and ▲ MH Technology and the booth exhibitions of ▲ Viva Innovation ▲ Coconut Silo ▲ Medi Here and ▲ Wennovation, along with Season I's most outstanding company - Animal Industry Data Korea, a total of 10 companies participated.
During the pitching announcement, the success stories and visions that were made possible through ENNOTANK were shared, and in the first place for the most outstanding team, MH Technology that develops and produces ZLeak Tubes, a cooling oil for high temperature parts of electric vehicles, was selected.
Morai, a key simulation platform for self-driving technology development and verification, was given second place, while Smartooth Korea, a next-generation oral care equipment manufacturing startup with ultra-small pH sensors and wireless communication, was given third place. The aforementioned startups were awarded with a prize money of 25 million, 15 million and 10 million won, respectively.
"ENNOTANK is a shared value creation program that discovers and develops startups and encompasses the engineering of talent in talented engineers, start-ups, mid-sized companies and large corporations. We will make every effort to continue to contribute in the revitalization of start-up ecosystems and for the creation of jobs for the youth," said SNU Professor Seung-Yeop Kwak, ENNOTANK's head of operations.
