  This graduate program is offered by the Graduate School of Engineering to a select number of qualified students from College of Engineering, Seoul National University. The program, established through connections between Japanese, Chinese, and Korean engineering educational institutions, aims to provide students with opportunities that
will aid in the support of sustainable developments in Asia.

1. Field of Study
  The study area must be within a field acknowledged by one of the faculty members of the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.

2. Additional Requirements for Eligibility
  Applicants must satisfy the following eligibility requirement in addition to the requirements for eligibility that are mentioned in ‘Application Guidelines for all Doctor’s Special English Graduate Programs’.
  Those who have obtained, or are expected to obtain, a master’s or professional degree or its equivalent from Seoul National University by the day before the admission date in October 2022.

3. Selection Methods and Announcement of Successful Applicants
  Applicants are to be shortlisted through primary selection at the College of Engineering, Seoul National University. For those on the shortlist, selection shall be conducted based on a comprehensive evaluation, taking into account both the submitted
documents and an interview.
  Before applying, applicants are required to find and contact a faculty member at the University of Tokyo who will give their consent and agree to host you.
  There will be a document screening by the University of Tokyo. For those on the shortlist, preliminary examination will be conducted based on the application documents. Those who pass the preliminary examination will be evaluated both by the
submitted documents and an interview, and the successful candidates will be decided.
  Interviews will be held online on November 15 and November 16 (tentative), 2021. (서류심사 합격자에 한해 인터뷰 진행)
  Selection results will be sent to the Dean of College of Engineering, Seoul National University from the Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo by the end of February 2022.

4. How to Apply
  Applicants must submit the documents mentioned in the "Application Guidelines for all Doctor’s Special English Graduate Programs - 3. Documents for Submission", as well as the following “Additional application documents” (see below) to the Office of International Affairs at the College of Engineering, Seoul National University, by the deadline set by the office.
The designated application forms can be created through the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Engineering online application system “T-cens.” Applicants must first upload all required information and documents on the T-cens system and then submit the paper-based application materials to the above-mentioned office at College
of Engineering, Seoul National University.

The T-cens system will be available at the website below after 15:00 on September 1st, 2021.

Additional application documents to apply for this program:
1. Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation must be submitted:
  1) Addressed to President Teruo Fujii of the University of Tokyo from the Dean of  College of Engineering, Seoul National University. (공대 국제협력실로 별도 문의 必, 880-8079)
  2) Addressed to Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering of the University of Tokyo from applicant’s supervising professor.
*If completing recommendation letters through the T-cens system is difficult for professors, paper letters can be submitted.
2. Score or certificate of English Language Proficiency:
Any test scores or certificate must be submitted; however, a TOEFL or IELTS score is strongly recommended.
