SNU College of Engineering AIP (Advanced Industrial Strategy Program) has held a historic sculpture ceremony commemorating its 30 years of history.

The ceremony was held on 23rd 5PM, in Engineer’s House AIP Hall, with the presence of Vice president Hwang In-Gyu, Dean Lee Kun-Woo, President of Alumni Association Kim Seok-Hwan, former President Kang Tae-Jin, President-elect Cha Kook-heon, and all the past Presidents of Alumni Association.

SNU AIP was established in 1988 and opened in March 1989, and has produced over 3000 alumni for more than 30 years. AIP has the longest history in Korea as the highest level program of science and engineering field, and has maintained the first place in the highest-level program evaluation conducted by the Korea Economic Daily.
SNU AIP plans to commemorate its 30-year history, through various activities such as publishing newsletters and memorial books that include its history and alumni visits, for the next two years. In the first step, SNU College of Engineering and the AIP alumni association jointly organized a space to commemorate the history of AIP, and built an AIP historic sculpture in it.

The historic sculpture, built by the donation of 14th alumni president Kim Seok-Hwan, is located at the center of the historical space, and it will serve to inform the history of the AIP and the brilliant achievements of the alumni, together with various memorials to be made. The alumni association plans for fund-raising activities for future students and provide support for university-industry cooperation.
