On 17th, SNU College of Engineering announces its signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chair Mohamed Fahmy of Egypt’s Universal University (UU) and CEO Abdel Aziz Fahmy of the EHAF Consulting Engineers (EHAF) for the engineering education and training program in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
Participants of the ceremony included Dean Cha Kook-Heon of SNU College of Engineering, EPM Head Professor Park JunBeom, Chair, Chair Mohamed Fahmy of Egypt’s UU, Partner Ali Abbas of EHAF, CEO Jang Songjin of Onnuri Global Partners, etc.
This contract, which is related to the new administrative capital plan of the Egyptian government, mainly contains engineering education and training programs like Engineering Project Management (EPM) with EHAF for the establishment of UU and the cooperation to create industry-university business opportunities in the MENA region.
Founded in 1971, EHAF is a leading engineering and project management firm that is centered in Cairo, Egypt and stretches to the MENA region. It is best known for planning and managing megaprojects like Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the government-affiliated Grand Egyptian Museum.
Chair Mohamed of UU has made a special lecture on “Future Engineering in the MENA Region” at 2PM on 18th at the SNU Global Education Center for Engineers. In addition, an EPM showcase will be hosted with a discussion session with Park Soomin, the director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and bureau director of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.
EPM Head Professor Park Changwoo states, “This contact is to serve as a stepping stone for creating global industry-university opportunities and expanding Korean enterprises to the MENA region. The cooperation with Egypt to boost engineering competitiveness will raise both countries’ future growth potential.”
