SNU College of Engineering (Dean Cha Kook-Heon) plans to run a summer crash course with University of Tokyo (UTokyo)’s School of Engineering.

This new short-term SNU-UTokyo crash course is a separate program from the joint lecture utilizing video conferencing system that operates during regular semester, which allows students to have access to lectures from the partner school offline. Professors from SNU and UTokyo visit their partner school in February and August to provide intensive lectures over a short period of time. The course will be worth 1 or 2 credits.

With this course, students can listen to popular lectures without physically going over to the other school while simultaneously filling their school credits. This also serves as a nice opportunity for those who wishes to take in-depth major courses during summer or winter semester when major courses rarely open.

Dean Cha Kook-Heon of SNU College of Engineering states, “Although there are many universities in Asia that are placed high on the QS Rankings, among these leading schools, it is definitely only SNU and UTokyo that have such rich history and background. It is this accumulated tradition that allow both universities to have exceptional depth and potential in learning that newborn universities cannot easily catch up with. Therefore, this program has exceptional value in that it is an exchange between two universities that outstand in all fields.”
