This forum has invited the governor of Arusha, a city in Tanzania marked by its Serengeti National Park, and the vice-minister of Tanzania’s Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy to discuss and plan about the science and technological economic cooperation and smart business development plan between the two countries.
The forum has been sparked with the welcoming speech of President Yoon Je Yong (Professor of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering) of ASAT and the congratulatory speeches of President Cho Hwang-Hee of STEPI and Ambassador Matilda Masuka.
Following up, the sub-projects of the international development cooperation project of the Ministry of Science and ICT have been introduced. These include: △ Development Vision of Smart Tourism, City, and Education of Arusha (Mrisho Gambo, Arusha Regional Commissioner), △ Korea-Tanzania Cooperation Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation (Song ChiUng, Chief Director of the Division of Global Innovation Strategy, STEPI), SNU Tanzania Innovative Technology and Energy Center’s Business Capacity Building Project (Lee Hyup-Seung, Director of Tanzania Innovative Technology and Energy Center), etc.
In addition, various ODA projects of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been catalogued, including the Smart Tourism Support Plan through Establishment of KOICA Serengeti Media Promotion Center (SMC) (Hong Gwang-hee, Division of Fusion SI, BRNetComm). The two information sessions, the Africa Fintech Market Advance Cases of Korean Enterprises by Kim Taegyun (Chief Direction of the Marketing Division) of Paylink Korea and Investment Opportunity and Support Policy for Korea-Tanzania Economic Cooperation by Economy Specialist John Masuka of the Embassy of Tanzania, have been proceeded to raise interest for the market advances of Korean enterprises.
