SNU College of Engineering and BMW Group Korea Co-host the SNU & BMW Group Korea Student Research Competition 2018

SNU College of Engineering (Dean Cha Kook-Heon) has announced on 22^nd the end of “SNU-BMW Group Korea Student Research Competition 2018” organized by SNU College of Engineering, hosted by the Advanced Automotive Research Center (AARC), and sponsored by BMW Group Korea that has begun this March.
 
This competition, being its first annual this year, has been launched with the aim to train college students who will lead the exchange of specialized skills and the automobile market in the future. A total of 16 teams consisting of undergraduate students from various departments in SNU has participated in this event that has covered all fields related to automobile.
 
The grand prize has been given to Lee Jae-sung (Department of Mechanical Engineering), Lee Jongmin, Jeon Yoonseo, and Cho Junbeom (Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering) who have presented under the title of “Temperature Control System of Eco-friendly Battery Using Magnetocaloric Effect.” The top excellence award and the excellence award have been delivered to teams presenting on “Development of the Parking and Charging System for Electric Automobile Using Energy Consumption Optimization Algorithm” and “Development of Interface to Improve Driver Communication” respectively.
 
The three winning teams have been offered 10M Korean Won, 5M Korean Won, and 3M Korean Won. On 12^th, a special luncheon inviting the recipients and families of recipients has taken place at the BMW Driving Center.
