SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on December 15 that it received the best award prize in the founding newsletter category at the 2020 Korea Communications Awards for their "SNU College of Engineering" webzine.

The <SNU College of Engineering> Webzine is a quarterly media that launched in October this year and is a comprehensive webzine encompassing the research results and latest news of the SNU College of Engineering. It faithfully serves as a hub to collectively provide news, including that of research achievements at the College of Engineering.
Dong Sin Han PM, who was in charge of production management, explained the significance of the project by saying that, "Receiving the Best Award Prize for Korean Communications was the first to occur within SNU, and we particularly focused on strengthening communication and cooperation between the SNU College of Engineering and the rest of society by integrating and converting its distributed research and contents into digital form."
In addition to the latest research and award news, Webzine also offers a wide range of reading and high-quality information such as open lectures, columns regarding industry-academic cooperation/start-ups as well as those written by honorary professors. The Webzine puts the convenience of users before anything else, making it easier for their readers to acquire the information they require and anyone can apply for a subscription.

The Korea Communications Awards is an event organized by the Korea Business Communicators Association and sponsored by domestic and foreign government agencies and organizations such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Employment and Labor and is a competition that evaluates communication products of national institutions, public corporations, private companies, etc.

"It is a very important task for the outstanding research results of the SNU College of Engineering to be known and communicated, and through this platform, we will establish ourselves as a communication hub for the College of Engineering," said Dean Kookheon Char of the SNU College of Engineering who led the project.

This year, due to social distancing caused by COVID-19, the awards ceremony was held separately by individual organizations without an official award ceremony.
