Professor Byung Gook Park was appointed to be a Fellow Member for the IEEE Electronics Devices Society in recognition of his contribution to charge trap flash memory and multiple patterning technology.

Professor Park has published more than 1,500 papers in the world's leading journals and academic societies of the semiconductor device field and holds more than 150 patents both inside and outside Korea. In Korea, he has actively contributed to related fields by serving as a member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, as the Chairman of the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers and as a Fellow Member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea.

"Professor Park has been conducting in-depth research on semiconductors such as developing next-generation memory devices, next-generation logic devices, nerve-motor devices & systems and process technologies since he took his post at Seoul National University in 1994," SNU said. "Through his appointment as a Fellow Member, his contribution to research on charge trap flash memory and ultra-fine multi-patterning, which forms the basis of the global semiconductor industry, has been significantly regarded on a worldwide scale."
