SNU Professor Byoungho Lee

SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on the 31st that Professor Byoungho Lee of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was selected as a"Fellow" of the Society for Information Display (SID) this year.
The International Society for Information Display is an institution with a 58-year-old history and each year, only five members, chosen after strict evaluation, who have made outstanding contributions to research and development of display technology through rigorous screening are selected as alumni. Professor Byoungho Lee was selected as a Fellow in recognition of his academic contributions in three-dimensional display and AR display fields such as integrated video, lightfield display and holography.
After graduating from SNU with a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering and a master's degree, Lee received a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley. With his active research activities in the fields of diffraction optics, 3D displays and nanp optics, he won this month's Science and Technology Prize in 2009 and SNU's Academic Research Award in 2013.
Professor Lee was appointed as a member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), the Optical Society of America (OSA), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and was selected as a member of the Society for Information Display (SID) this time, which earned him recognition for his work in all international academic organizations.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on June 8 at the Display Week academic conference at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
