Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn of the SNU Department of Mechanical Engineering Inaugurated as the President of the Academic Society of Appropriate Technology

Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) took office as President of the Academic Society of Appropriate Technology. The Academic Society of Appropriate Technology includes various fields of engineering such as architecture and infrastructure, water, ICT and smart technology, energy, manufacturing, and the environment, and is characterized by multi-disciplinary research and its local and international application to health, agriculture, climate change, education, regional development, international cooperation and Official Development Assistance (ODA) for developing countries.
Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn received a Ph.D. from Stanford University, was the President of the University Industry Technology Force (UNITEF) and was the Director of the Center of Development Cooperation at the Institute of Global Social Responsibility immediately after which he was the Associate Dean and Department Chair of the Graduate School of Engineering Practice and currently, he is the Editor in Chief of the international journal IJPEM-Green Technology, a fellow of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) and a member of The National Academy of Engineering of Korea.
