SNU Graduate School of Engineering Practice (GSEP, Director Cha Kook-heon) has announced its hosting of the 2nd “EPM Congress 2018” in collaboration with the Engineering Project Management (EPM) program on 14th at the fifth floor of SNU Global Education Center for Engineers. 
 
First hosted in February of 2018 to create future job positions and new business opportunities, the EPM Congress is booked to be hosted biannually for three years. Its aim is to design a feasible project by 2020 to thus construct a stable growth platform which can foster the 4th industrial innovation in 2030.
 
Under the title of this event “Smart World and Future Campus SNU2030,” heated conferences on Smart PMC, Smart City, Smart Engineering, and future campus have been held.
 
With around 150 participants consisting of students and Industry-University-Institute Cooperation experts, a session of round table discussion has been facilitated as an adjunct to the actual program. By sharing a brief outline of presentations which are to happen afterwards, a general direction of the debate has been formulated.
 
As part of the official morning program, EPM Head Professor Park JunBoum (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) has delivered his opening speech and Director Cha Kook-heon has delivered his congratulatory message.
 
Director (or Dean) Cha emphasizes, “SNU College of Engineering has strived to raise leaders of the global society. Having engineering intellectuals that can pilot the Fourth Industrial Revolution is of paramount importance; That is why the hosting of EPM Congress bears great meaning.”
 
Following up, Doctor Lee Jeong-Yoon of Microsoft has shared instances on the current trend in global machine learning and the importance of project management to yielding good results in competitions.
 
During the afternoon, topic-based conferences have been run alternatively by 9 Industry-University-Institute experts, including James Willn, a dispute resolution lawyer of Stephenson Harwood. In addition, the 2nd “SNU Idea Competition for Graduate Students” under the topic of “Fourth Industrial Revolution and Future Campus” has been held.
 
Lastly, with EPM Program Principal Professor Park Changwoo chaperoning, a comprehensive debate where all chairs and participants of each conferences gathered, has been held for heated wrap-up discussion.
 
Professor Park states, “Consistent working group meetings on each conference topic have been held between today and the first congress in February. By next February, the Congress aims to build toward a more realistic and detailed look constructing more definite plans to its goal of 2020 and 2030.”
