SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on December 23 that a group composed of the award-winning teams from the 8th SNU Creative Design Fair will visit the CES2020 in Las Vegas from January 7th to the 10th (local time).
The SNU College of Engineering Creative Design Fair is an event designed to ▲ foster human resources suitable for the vision of SNU's engineering college, ▲to culture the education and applicability skills related to the importance of engineering creativity design, and ▲to cultivate the exchange between various departments and encourage their cooperative spirit.
This year, the 8th Creative Design Festival was held under the auspices of the DB Kim Jun Ki Cultural Foundation (the DB Cultural Foundation). A total of 59 teams from various departments participated in the Creative Design Competition at the Creative Design Fair, competing fiercely under the themes of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, self-driving and digital health care.

The exhibition and judging of the entries were held at the College of Engineering building number 38 - the Piloti Space of the Global Education Center for Engineers - and the award ceremony that had the College of Engineering Dean and President Hong Yong Jung of the DB Culture Foundation taking part in the ceremony was held in building 39, the BK Hall.  A special lecture by DB HiTek Executive Director Hyunchul Nah and Daum Soft Vice President Kil-young Song , which took place before and after the awards ceremony, added to the excitement at the venue.

The three teams with the greatest award winning works, ▲투바팩진 (a tactile wearable device for hearing impaired people), ▲Social Sense (a multi-sensory treatment tool for autistic children), and ▲공우 (a meticulous cleaning robot using front-wheel and protruding inhalers) were selected as the SNU College of Engineering training team.

The SNU College of Engineering training team will enhance its understanding of global technology trends and strengthen its capacity for start-ups through visits to the CES organized by the Consumer Technology Association of the U.S. and visits to the Silicon Valley GSV Labs.

"The main purpose of the Creative Design Fair event is to train and culture creative technical talent," said Kookheon Char, Dean of SNU College of Engineering. "The CES training received by the training team, which is comprised of the winning teams of the Creative Design Fair, will be a great help for students at SNU College of Engineering to set more challenging goals and develop into globally creative and talented individuals."
