The Central Disaster Safety and Countermeasure Headquarters discussed implementing new social distancing measures due to the severe situation of confirmed cases in the Seoul metropolitan area; social distancing level will be raised to level 3 in the Seoul metropolitan area if exceeding the criteria, and each local government will take measures to reinforce disease control and prevention measures as much as possible during the period of implementation.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government decided as of Wed, Jun. 30, 2021, to maintain the current social distancing measures for one week in recognition of the severity of the current situation. Gyeonggi-do Province and Incheon also decided to follow suit and do the same for one week to apply the measures to the entire Seoul metropolitan area.

Accordingly, the current social distancing measures will be maintained for one week in the Seoul metropolitan area, such as retaining the capacity limit of private gatherings to up to 4 persons, prohibiting gatherings at entertainment facilities, restricting the operating hours of karaoke rooms, restaurants and cafes to 10 PM.
