The major in Management of Technology at Seoul National University aims at fostering students visions and leadership to lead a rapidly changing technology-intensive industry through educating engineering, management and economics knowledge.
Management of Technology offers a combined curriculum from two or more undergraduate and major courses. Students majoring in Technology Management take courses from the departments of Industrial Engineering, Economics, and Business Administration. Through this program, humanities and business students can acquire an understanding and ability to utilize the latest technologies. At the same time, engineering students can gain the ability to understand and operate their specialized knowledge in various managerial and economic situations.
Under the broad framework of fostering individuals knowledgeable in both technology and management, Management of Technology doesn't pursue a specifically predefined coursework, instead encourages students to take a diverse range of courses in business, economics, and industrial engineering by enabling them to design their detailed major courses on their own.
Interdisciplinary Major in Artificial Intelligence is a course to deal with AI cores, systems, and applications.
Internships at AI companies or laboratories are essential for practical experience and advanced learning.
As a result, it aims to cultivate talents not only who have knowledge of AI but also can make a practical application.
Currently, we are living in a revolutionary era of the 4th industrial revolution, such as artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, 5G, meta-bus, satellite communication, smart factory, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Info-communication technology is at the center of these changes, and Info-communication technology is closely connected with computers, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and mobility technologies, changing the world as a tool for innovation.
In March 2022, the combined major 'Intelligent communications' took its first step with the goal of fostering talents who will lead this era of change. In Korea, where manpower is the key resource, fostering key talents in intelligent communications who will lead the future of the country will be more meaningful than anything else.
Combined major 'Intelligent Communications' is combined with The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Department of Linguistics, Department of Public Administration, etc , various fields of study, aims to nurture future talents who will lead communication network technology.
In order to nurture future talents to lead the development of the country, combined major 'Intelligent communications' will do its best.
In order to drive the emergence and development of smart cities, it is necessary to train professionals and field experts who can integrate traditional urban design-based discipline with cutting-edge technology. This can be realized through advanced education based on various interdisciplinary applications.
Research Areas in Detail: In the convergence major of ‘Smart Ocean Mobility’, we are recruiting global talented students who possess not only theoretical knowledge through the completion of essential subjects in various disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and industrial engineering, but also practical skills in applying artificial intelligence technology to field-specific issues such as smart (autonomous) ships, eco-friendly energy, and smart production.
Development of practical R&D talent with global competitiveness by establishing a system integrateddesign curriculum and a new concept educational infrastructure
1
It realizes the development of high-quality human resources through the establishment of a graduate school convergence course that are internationally competitive and specialized in the design of unmanned vehicles by incorporating multidisciplinary thinking and insights into unmanned autonomous control and hyper-connected communication into the existing element technology-oriented knowledge base.
2
During the degree course, it operates subjects that design, production, performance test, evaluation, and demonstration based on big data and optimization to cultivate practical talents with theory and development experience that lead the industrial field after graduation.
3
The convergence process serves as a hub for national universities and businesses for the education and development of unmanned mobility by establishing an educational infrastructure for elemental analysis technology and optimization design and enabling the entire process of knowledge-based decision-making design of unmanned mobility in One Spot.
This Integrated Major in Sustainable High-Level Radioactive Waste Management (Integrated Major) aims to foster future leaders who will approach high-level waste in a more environmental-friendly and sustainable way.
Being multidisciplinary in nature, the Integrated Major introduces various technical options across all stages of high-level waste management from its generation, transport, storage, treatment, recycling, and disposal; as well as selecting a high-level waste disposal site, short- and long-term safety improvement for high-level waste, communication concerning the radiation impact of high-level waste, and the establishment and evaluation of multi-disciplinary national policy scenarios for high-level waste management.
It also provides students from different schools, including Engineering and Social Sciences, with the opportunity to identify various sources of conflict, to enhance their insight into a more effective way for conflict management and policy making, and to develop their own creative policy for better conflict management.
The Integrated Major ultimately aims to equip students with not only the technical knowledge required to understand high-level waste and its treatment, but also with a variety of skills such as communication skills, safety regulation, conflict management skills, and decision-making skills.
