The Interdisciplinary Program in Space System focuses on developing curricula and practical infrastructure aimed at nurturing and supplying highly skilled professionals capable of effectively leading the nation’s long-term space development plan. The goal is to cultivate space professionals with both creative and practical capabilities who are capable of achieving self-sufficiency in space technology, thus advancing the national objective of becoming a space power and nurturing the space industry. The program will lay the groundwork for the domestic development of critical technologies in launch vehicles, satellites, their applications, and space materials—areas that currently rely on foreign sources.

Objectives
Foster individuals with practical skills and capabilities

SNU collaborates with industries and research institutes for the joint development and operation of educational programs. By offering domestic and international field internships, we aim to nurture professionals who can immediately contribute to leading industries.

Foster interdisciplinary professionals with convergent skills

Considering the wide-ranging nature of space technology, its systematic integration, and its interdisciplinary nature, this program involves professors from different disciplines such as aerospace, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, computer engineering, astrophysics, mathematical sciences, and life sciences. This approach aims to effectively deliver education by accommodating these diverse aspects of the field.
