SNU Department of Industrial Engineering, Awarded Korean Institute if Industrial Engineering 12^th Masters Thesis Competition Grand and Top Excellence award

SNU College of Engineering (Dean Lee Kun-woo) stated on 24th that a graduate student Hong Seong-won and a graduate Koo Hye-jung from the Department of Industrial Engineering were awarded of the grand prize and the top excellence award in the '12th Masters Thesis Competition' held in Korea University Anam Campus hosted by Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers.
 
The graduate student Hong Seong-won proposed a production process which minimizes preparation time and production expense of the automobile painting process in his paper 'optimization algorithms for a car resequencing problem' under advice of Professor Lee Kyungsik. If the color alteration is often in general car painting process, the problem of time and cost increase occurs.
 
The graduate student Hong Seong-won said "Profesor Lee Kyungsik and his research team was very helpful", and said "After graduation, I want to focus on developing optimization technique of smart production system in smart factory related corporation and hope to contribute in Korean industry development.
 
The graduate Koo Hye-jung presented "decision making of multiple logistics support unit and the supplies volume in wartime condition". She suggested effective operation scheme which can support the mission in unstable wartime condition. Especially, this paper received attention because it was written based on her direct feelings of such problem as a military officer.
 
The graduate Koo Hye-jung said "I am thankful for the support of the Korean Military and Professor Moon Ilkyeong", and said "I hope to contribute in the strengthening of military force by conducting scientification of the Korean military operations”.
