Dr. Bohoon Kim (supervisor Professor Jae-ICK YOH) of the Seoul National University won the "John HS Lee Young Researcher Award" for the first time as a Korean participant at the 26th ICDERS (International Collaboration on the Dynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems).
The ICDERS Competition is a world authorized academic conference in the field of the combustion explosion engineering. It is held every two years and this year it was held in Boston, USA, from July 30 to August 4.
In this conference, Dr. Kim has developed a mathematical model that can be applied to various combustion explosion engineering fields. Dr. Kim said, "I am honored to be awarded the Young Researcher Award for the first time as a Korean participant in ICDERS. It is more meaningful since this model was verified as a core technology that can be used in qualification process of newly developed warhead, ammunition and other aerospace engineering fields.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Kim’s research was published in the international journal ‘Computers and Fluids’ in the August.
