Seoul National University, College of Engineering announced that a research team of Professor Jaejin Lee (Ph.D. student Heehoon Kim, Hyungmo Kim, Pyeongsuk Oh, M.S. student Youngdong Do, Jiyoung Park, Jeongyook Kim) won the prize in ‘2017 National Supercomputing Competition’ that was held in UNIST on July 27,28. Heehoon Kim and Pyeongsuk Oh won the first prize, Hyungmo Kim and Youngdong Do won the second prize and Jiyoung Park and Jeongyook Kim won the third prize.
The National Supercomputing Competition was hosted by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) and is a competition to solve a given problem using a high-performance computer in a given time. It mainly competes with parallel programming ability to utilize high-performance computers.
The competition is divided into two categories: undergraduate and graduate. In the case of the graduate school, a total of 6 awards was be awarded (first prize for one team, second prize for two teams, third prize for three teams). Three teams from Prof. Jaejin Lee’s laboratory participated the competition and won the first prize, the second prize, and the third prize, respectively.
