Seoul National University College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on 18th that Professor Ho-Young Kim of Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering was selected as an American Physical Society Fellow.

Professor Ho-Young Kim was selected as a fellow for his academic achievements in micro-scale fluid mechanics and biomimetic engineering. This qualification will be maintained forever since 2018.

The American Physics Society is the world’s best physics society and holds more than 53,000 members. APS Fellow, which is the most honorable member of the American Physics Society, is selected after being reviewed by the selection committee and assigned to only 0.5 percent of all members. It is only given to members who have made outstanding contributions to research, application, leadership, and education and have made a significant contribution to the dissemination of physics knowledge.

Professor Kim, who became a professor of SNU in 2004, has been working as a member of the US Physics Society since 2005. He has been conducting active researches on ‘water-insect mimic robot using surface tension’, ‘Moisture-driven plant mimic robots’, ‘Nanoscale 3D printing’ and ‘Microscale multiporous fluid dynamics’.
