Seoul National University co-hosted the ‘Medical Device Forum for Medical Schools, College of Engineering and Seoul National University Hospital’

- Aims to conduct convergence researches that lead 4^th industrial revolution

Seoul National University College of Engineering announced that they co-hosted the 'Medical Device Forum for Medical Schools, College of Engineering, and Seoul National University Hospital'. The event was held at Seosunghwan Hall, Seoul National University Hospital.
The purpose of this forum is to expand communication between engineers and medical experts and to develop new technologies through joint research.
 
Seoul National University College of Engineering made presentations on the following topics : △Development of ultra high magnetic field (> 11.7T) clinical MRI magnet using high-temperature superconducting technology without insulation (Professor Seungyong Hahn of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering ), △Proposing ultra-low magnetic field MRI based on magnetic vortex (Professor Sang-Koog Kim of Department of Materials Science and Engineering), △dCas9-mediated nanoelectrikinetic gene detection (Professor Sungjae Kim of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering)
 
Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital made presentations on the following topics : △Application of artificial intelligence for clinical test efficiency (BK Professor Yoochae Jung of Seoul National University Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology), △Estimation of arrhythmia using artificial intelligence (Professor Seil Oh of Department of Cardiology), △ VitalDB, a freely accessible intraoperative vital signs database of surgical patients (Professor Cheolwoo Jung of Department of Anesthesiology), △Clinical Application of 1H-MRS in IDH-mutated Gliomas; A preliminary patient study (Professor Hyeonjin Kim of Department of Radiology)
The professors attending the forum shared the necessity of convergence research and proposed the operation of the organization, which support continuous meeting, to create practical achievement.
Dean of College of Engineering, Kookheon Char said, "When I conduct medical device business, I often feel difficulties in communication between engineering experts and medical experts. At the period when the medical market and medical device industry are rapidly expanding, we can increase our competitiveness in this rapidly changing industry if engineers and doctors cooperate together.”
Professor Kyoungphile Nam (Associate Dean (Research) of College of Engineering), who hosted the forum, said, "If we combine the world-class technological potential of Seoul National University College of Engineering with the highest level of clinical technology in Seoul National University Hospital, we will be able to lead the 4th industrial revolution through fostering of medical device industry.”
