On 22nd, SNU College of Engineering (Dean Cha Kook-Heon) has announced that on 16th, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Professor Hong Yong-Taek’s Lab (Advanced flexible Electronics Laboratory, AXEL) won the Best Academic Development in Printed & Flexible Electronics Award in IDTechEX Show USA 2017 held in Santa Clara Convention Center.
Professor Hong’s Lab has been awarded the prize for developing technology to highly integrate existing semiconductor chips by using printing process and developing base technology of large-scale mass production process for rapid commercialization of flexible electronic technology.
Hybridization technology, which combines traditional semiconductor technology and new process technology for a rubber-like stretch platform, is a unique technology owned by Professor Hong’s Lab. This technology has been continuously reported to famous international journals and domestic media.
IDTechEX Show USA 2017 is the world's largest event in the field of printed electronics, with more than 3,500 participants. This year, more than 260 exhibitors participated in exhibitions related to sensors, wearable materials, components, and process equipment, and more than 250 technical presentations were held mainly by industrial speakers.
