Seoul National University College of Engineering announced that it will recruit 16th Next Generation Construction Leader Academy trainees in 2018 for undergraduate and graduate students who are studying related fields.
The 16th Next Generation Construction Leader Academy will be held at the Gwanak campus of Seoul National University for 6 weeks from January 3 to February 9, 2018. Applications for education will available from the 17th (Fri) through 27th (Mon) through the webpage (www.ncla.co.kr).
The Next Generation Construction Leader Academy is Korea's first construction industry academy cooperative education program sponsored by Seoul National University and HanmiGlobal. Since it was opened in 2007, 797 students from 75 universities in Korea and abroad have completed the program, and it shows 83% employment and enrollment rates. It is a short-term intensive camp for the vacation period and it is a proven educational program with an excellent lecturer and a highly effective educational curriculum.
This program is gaining popularity with undergraduate and graduate students who dream of the next generation of construction leaders. In particular, is has gained recognition from students who major architectures, as many students from prominent universities such as Purdue Univ., Tsinghua Univ., Cornell Univ., University of Illinois, University of Illinois, Los Angeles California University (UCLA) participated the program.
In order to reflect the trend of the construction industry, about 40 current construction experts, professors, and CEOs are participating in the program.
In particular, this year, it will be composed of a highly effective curriculum for strengthening knowledge and global competitiveness of construction work in general. The program consists of four detailed training modules and literacy training: Construction General, Problem Solving, On-Site Training, and Global Challenge. It is anticipated that the practical education will be organized based on the practical work carried out by the construction company and the engineering company, so that the students can acquire various practical knowledge and experience required in the actual work.
In addition, it will conduct a team project to select research topics related to the construction industry based on the knowledge gained during the program. The faculty member of Seoul National University and the person in charge of personnel education at major construction companies will participate as evaluators. Furthermore, it will provide international field trip opportunity, scholarships for excellent students, and HanmiGlobal Global Internship opportunity to all members of the best team.
