SNU College of Engineering (Dean Cha Kook-Heon) states that Professor Park Hayoung of the Department of Industrial Engineering (Interdisciplinary Program in Technology, Management, Economics and Policy Major) has been nominated on December 20^th as the recipient of Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation. Over the course of two years (from November 2015 to November 2017), Professor Park has conducted intensive research on Health Information Exchange (HIE) performance management and Incentive System development. This research has not only contributed to the establishment of HIE-based healthcare informatization, but has also supported the expansion of the utilizable scope of new medical information from medical institutions.
 
The Fourth Industrial Revolution harnesses data. Thus for the success of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the medical field, stewardship of data produced during medical treatment is of paramount importance. Before HIE can be used as an efficient leverage, proper incentive and performance management is in demand. Exceptionally in the medical field, levels of understanding of stakeholders largely influence the acceptance and spread of related technology. Thus, Professor Park has strived to increase the ecological validity of her research findings through conducting interviews with 39 experts and stakeholders. Her strive to implement ICT-based medical policy program, for the further development of healthcare services and health promotion program, is what has ultimately prized her the ministerial commendation.
