Professor Kyong Su Yi Receives the US Government Safety Engineering Excellence Award at the 26^th ESV

SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on 3^rd that Professor Kyong Su Yi of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has received the US Government Safety Engineering Excellence Award at the 26^th International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles.
 
ESV, sponsored by the US Department of Transportation and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is an event hosted to encourage international cooperation on the field of motor vehicle safety. It is hosted once every two years in US, Japan, and other major leaders of the motor vehicle industry for the participants to present and showcase their ideas.
 
The ESV also presents awards of the US government. This year, Professor Yi received the US Government Safety Engineering Excellence Award for developing safety technologies for automated driving and high-speed driving.
 
Professor Yi stated, “It is an honor to receive such a prestigious award on vehicle safety. I will further strive to research to enhance technologies related to vehicle safety.”
 
Meanwhile, the 26^th ESV was hosted from June 10^th to 13^th in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Participants covered a wide variety including representatives from vehicle companies and vehicle supply companies, members of safety institutes, experts in vehicle safety, specialists in medical insurance, etc.
