SNU Global R&DB Center Enters into MOU with World Bank for Cooperation in Technology and Innovation

SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the World Bank. The signing ceremony was held on July 23rd and the participants included Dean Char, Junseok Hwang, the head of Global R&DB Center, Martin Raiser, the World Bank country director for Korea, China and Mongolia, and Hoon Sahib Soh, the special representative of the World Bank Group (WBG) Korea office.
Under the terms of the MoU, the parties will join force to ▲ exchange experience and knowledge on science, technology, and education and▲ host events, seminars, conferences, and meetings to lead global innovation.
With their wide global network in ICT science & technology, SNU Global R&DB Center is striving toward professionalism in global science & technology innovation via operating numerous projects on global HR management, industry-university cooperation, research and consulting. By running various cooperation projects with World Bank, the center aims to obtain fruitful outcomes in fields including global innovation, science & technology, and education.
World Bank is an international financial institution that provides loans and grants to developing countries for the purpose of resolving world poverty and promoting shared prosperity. The group has over 100 branches established around the world to conduct numerous activities for multiple purposes including economic development, combatting climate change, and simply education & research. 
Dean Char said, “By signing this MoU, SNU has inked a crucial partnership that is needed for the school to become the leader of future innovation. We will further seek new fields in science and technology in which the two parties can cooperate.”
