○ (Acquisition Period)

① D-2 Holders : From the Date of entry (Foreigner Registration Date upon initial entry)

② Overseas Koreans, F-4 Holders: From the Date of admission after entry (The enrollment certificate is required)

○ (Change) Monthly insurance premium reduced to KRW 75,490 starting from January 2024

... 50% reduction based on the average premium of subscribers in the previous year (KRW 150,990)

※ Exclusion from premium reduction: Annual income exceeding KRW 3.6 million or property exceeding KRW 135 million.

○ (Notification) Sent by mail to the residence reported in the foreigner registration or domestic residence declaration.

(Guide) Electronic Notification and Automatic Debit Application

○ (Electronic Notification) Electronic document sent to the applicant's email or mobile phone.

○ (Automatic Debit) Automatic withdrawal of health insurance premiums on the due date (25th of each month)

※ Late payment fee incurs daily after the due date (25th)... Up to 5% may be imposed.

○ (Card Processing Fee) Self-payment: Credit card (0.8%), Debit card (0.5%)

○ (Application Method) Visiting NHI Center or Online (tel: 1577-1000, branch fax, Corporation website/app 'The Health Insurance')

○ (Payment Method) Automatic debit, virtual account, payment at financial institutions... Card payment through kiosk when visiting.

○ (Reduction Application) KRW 200 monthly deduction upon full payment of the previous month and email notification.

Miscellaneous

○ (Salary Restriction) Salary restriction from the 1st of the following month in case of non-payment of insurance premiums

※ Medical expenses are not retroactively applied during the non-payment period, e.g., Payment on January 1st for January, in which case, there is a salary restriction from February 1st.

○ (General Health Checkup) For those born in even years (eg: 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004...) aged 20 and above: No self-payment required.

※ (Cervical Cancer Screening) For females aged 20 and above born in even years... No self-payment required.
