SNU College of Engineering and Architecture & Urban Research Institute Signs MOU for Smart City Manpower Training & Development and Research Cooperation

SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced the signing of MOU with the Architecture & Urban Research Institute (AURI) on April 19th for Smart City manpower training & development and research cooperation.
 
Through this contract, the two institutes will cooperate for: △ development and management of educational programs to raise talented individuals on Smart City, △ joint-participation and support in various government-funded education and research programs, △ empowering data science and researching to resolve societal issues, △ academic, informational, human resource exchange for growth of both institutes, and △ operation of industry-university programs and international cooperation programs.
 
SNU College of Engineering was chosen as one of the execution universities of Smart City Innovative HR Plan. This MOU was propelled by the need to construct a definite cooperative system between the two institutes to support the Smart City policy of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
 
SNU College of Engineering stated, “While many major countries around the world are eagerly conducting researches on Smart City and raising experts on the field, Korea still lacks active research cooperation and HR management on Smart City. Through this MOU, we plan to strategically control future HR and encourage research cooperation on Smart City.”
 
On the day of the signing ceremony, Dean Char stressed, “In response to the demand of the Smart City industry, we will foster more research cooperation for it to become the turning point for core HR management and resolving social issues relating to Smart City.”
 
SNU College of Engineering revealed their plans to raise future experts on Smart City not only for constructing innovative Smart Cities in Korea but to raise the overall national competitiveness on Smart City.
