Seoul National University College of Engineering (Dean Byoungho Lee) announced on October 19 that Emeritus Professor Jae Hong Lee of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was elected as the 2022 Chairman of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer Vehicular Technology Society by the Board of Directors through a videoconference held on October 5.
 
The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, a society in the field of mobile communication and automobile electronics technology with a 72-year history, will have Professor Jae Hong Lee take office on January 1, 2022.
 
Professor Jae Hong Lee, who was elected as Chairman, received a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan in the United States in 1986 after receiving a Bachelor's Degree in electronic engineering in 1976 and a master's degree in 1978 at Seoul National University.

He served as a researcher at AT&T Bell Research Institute in the United States and served as a professor at Seoul National University from 1987 to 2019, and is currently a member of the IEEE Fellow Committee, a full member of the Korea Academy of Science and Technology, and a senior member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea and received the Order of Service Merit, Yellow Stripes in 2014.
