Jingu Lee, CEO of AIRS Medical Inc., an alumnus of Seoul National University College of Engineering's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was selected as the recipient of 'The 5th Next Generation Engineering Leader Award' Hosted by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea on December 16.
 
The Next-Generation Engineering Leader Award is given to engineers nationwide who have achieved creative and challenging achievements, and CEO Jingu Lee was positively evaluated for his potential to solve social problems by demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit in the corporate sector.
 
CEO Jingu Lee founded AIRS Medical Inc., an artificial intelligence startup in the medical field, with colleagues in the Laboratory for Imaging Science and Technology of Seoul National University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
AIRS Medical Inc. developed and launched "SwiftMR," a solution that can reduce the shooting time of magnetic resonance imaging devices (MRI) by half with data restoration technology using artificial intelligence models.
"SwiftMR" is recognized for its unique technology that minimizes MRI's long shooting time, reducing its patient's discomfort while increase diagnosis accuracy.
In particular, AIRS Medical Inc.'s excellence has been proven by how it won all categories at the 2020 FastMRI Competition co-hosted by Facebook AI Research and New York University Medical Center  in the U.S.
 
'AIRS Medical is expected to dramatically improve the accessibility of MRI, the flower of radiology, based on world-class technology,' said Professor Jong-Ho Lee (B) of Seoul National University College of Engineering's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, who guided Jingu Lee at the SNU Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering's graduate school.
 
Meanwhile,  AIRS Medical Inc. has been rapidly distributing solutions to domestic hospitals since it acquired a license from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety earlier this year, and plans to accelerate its global business by obtaining a license from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510k in October.
