SNU College of Engineering's Global R&DB Center Holds 'International Symposia GSDV'
of the Theme of 'Great Transformation'

Seoul National University's College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced on June 21 that the Global R&DB Center (Director Jun-Seok Hwang) will hold the 'International Symposia GSDV (Green Smart Development & Vision)' for three days from June 22 (Tuesday) to 24 (Thursday) to establish a sustainable global cooperation network.
 
The GSDV, which will be held under the theme of "The Great Transformation," will be broadcasted around the world for three days after being pre-recorded and will be shared with overseas students and current students as well as approximately 1000 more individuals who are part of ICT-related domestic and multinational companies that are working with Seoul National University.
 
This event that has annually been held since 2011, is hosted by Seoul National University's Global R&DB Center (GRC) and supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and this year's GSDV includes the presentation of international project proposals for eco-friendly and sustainable innovation ideas that can respond to climate change through business ecosystem innovation, build a new post-COVID-19 framework for economic growth and smart city implementation as well as the resolving of socio-cultural problems based on ICT technology.
 
The speeches, led by the 8th UN Secretary-General and Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) President & Chairman Ban Ki-moon's special remark, included those of Yannick Glemarec - the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Margaret Kim – Chief Executive Officer of Gold Standard, Frank Rijberman – Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute and Fernando Pons - Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
 
The first day, June 22 (Tuesday), with the sub-theme of 'Green Transformation' will have participants of GCF, EBDR, Gold Standard, ALTMAR and many more and a discussion panel will be held based on the topic of innovation for sustainable green investment while on the second day, June 23 (Wednesday), under the sub-theme of 'Smart Transformation', there will be presentations from UNEP, UNPOG and The World Bank, the sharing of outstanding smart city cases, followed by speeches from IICA General Director Manuel Otero as well as other IICA professionals under the theme of 'Next Agriculture Transformation'.
 
The last day, June 24 (Thursday), will have the sub-theme of 'Development Transformation and Vision' and will involve a session regarding Born2Global's global business ecosystem change and opportunities for a new economic paradigm and studies on overseas expansion of domestic companies and cooperative projects of Seoul National University ITPP (International Technology Professional Program) course students, who are International ICT experts.
