the Best Thesis Award for the First Semester of 2021

Seoul National University's College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced that the award ceremony for the Best Thesis Award for the first semester of 2021 was held on the 24th at the small conference room of Building no. 39, Room 238 at Seoul National University's College of Engineering. The event was moderated by Professor Kisuk Kang, Vice Dean of Research, and a total of five students were honored with the award: Andrew Nghiem from the Department of Architecture and Architectural Engineering, Junghan Kwon from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Chulho Jung from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Juneyoung Lee from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Younhwa Kim from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
 
“I hope to see these students grow as leaders in our society, contribute to industrial development and become key players in the field of social development,” said Kookheon Char, Dean of Seoul National University's College of Engineering, as he gave his congratulatory remarks at the awards ceremony. In addition, he emphasized how, through this opportunity, the College of Engineering is developing into a world-class university.
 
The BEST THESIS AWARD was established in the second semester of the 2020 academic year to inspire graduate students of the College of Engineering to encourage their research and maturation into world-class competitive researchers and is awarded to students with outstanding achievements for creating outstanding research results and by faithfully performing academic and research activities during the course of their degree program.
 
Meanwhile, during the screening process, 25 people recommended by each department applied, showing a competition ratio of 5:1, and award certificates and medals were awarded to the winners selected after rigorous screening by the judges.
