The event saw 59 graduates, including 27 military officers—such as Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force Seok-rak Son—and 19 CEOs and executives from civilian companies, along with 44 family members. Distinguished attendees included Vice President for Research Jae-young Kim, Dean Young-oh Kim of the College of Engineering, and Head Professor Chan Gook Park, who congratulated the graduates.
The graduation ceremony consisted of the first national ceremony, followed by a report by the principal professor, a congratulatory speech by the vice president for research, and the awarding of certificates of completion and citations for excellence, and a total of 27 students were honored, including Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force Seok-rak Son and CEO of Hope Airtech Jo-yeon Hwang, who received the highest honor, the Alps Award.
In the second part of the ceremony, attendees shared memories from the five-month program in a warm atmosphere during a celebratory banquet, affirming their commitment to future alumni gatherings. A campus walking tour followed, where graduates explored the past and present of Seoul National University, envisioning a bright future for the institution together.
The Advanced Leaders Program For National Future Security & Strategy, led by Professor Chan Gook Park of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, was established in 2013 by Seoul National University and the Ministry of National Defense to foster future defense technological innovation experts and military leaders by promoting military, academic, and civilian exchanges. The program fosters global talents who can contribute to strengthening national competitiveness and enhancing the national brand in an uncertain international economic and political reality. The 567 graduates of the 11 batches of the program, which is held once a year, are currently active in all walks of life in the military and society.
